Job Summary
The Dispatch Rider (Delivery Rider) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional pickup and delivery of parcels, documents, and goods to customers using company-approved motorcycles or bicycles. The role requires discipline, route efficiency, customer interaction skills, and strict adherence to traffic and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate is reliable, physically fit, customer-friendly, and familiar with city routes and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Operations

Pick up and deliver parcels, food items, documents, and goods to customers within assigned locations and timelines.

Ensure accurate pickup and delivery by verifying customer details, delivery addresses, and order instructions.

Use the Fasta Delivery mobile app to accept delivery requests, update delivery status, and confirm successful deliveries.

Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely delivery.
Customer Interaction

Represent Fasta Delivery Services professionally when interacting with customers and partners.

Communicate clearly and politely with customers regarding delivery status, delays, or special instructions.

Obtain proof of delivery where required (signature, photo confirmation, OTP, etc.).
Safety & Compliance

Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety rules, and company delivery guidelines.

Wear required safety gear at all times, including helmet and reflective jacket.

Handle parcels carefully to prevent damage, loss, or tampering.
-
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of customer items and information.
Vehicle & Equipment Management

Ensure assigned motorcycle or bicycle is in good working condition before and after daily operations.

Carry out basic daily checks (fuel, brakes, lights, tires, oil levels).

Report mechanical faults, accidents, or breakdowns promptly to the Operations team.

Keep delivery equipment (delivery box, app device, ID card) clean and functional.
Reporting & Documentation

Accurately record deliveries, returns, failed attempts, and customer feedback using the delivery platform.

Submit daily or weekly delivery reports as required.

Report incidents such as damaged goods, missing items, accidents, or customer complaints immediately.
Performance & Teamwork

Meet delivery targets and performance standards set by the company.

Collaborate effectively with dispatch coordinators, customer experience officers, and fellow riders.

Participate in training sessions on safety, customer service, and platform usage.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Educational Requirements

Minimum of Primary School Certificate or SSCE (WAEC/NECO).
Experience

Previous experience as a dispatch rider or delivery agent is an advantage but not mandatory.

Knowledge of Akure local routes, streets, and traffic patterns is essential.
Skills & Competencies

Valid rider’s permit / driver’s license (as applicable).

Ability to read maps, use GPS, and operate smartphone applications.
